Jessica G. Cantrell joined Underwood Scoggins, LLC as a Senior Associate, where her primary practice areas will focus on Land Use, Zoning, and Real Estate Litigation, as well as General Civil Litigation.
Raised in Monroe, Georgia, Jessica is a graduate of South Gwinnett High School. She went on to earn a Bachelor of Arts in International Studies with a minor in Chinese from Georgia Southern University. Following Graduation, Jessica moved to Washington, D.C. and worked for a congressman before receiving her Juris Doctorate from Valparaiso University School of Law.
Prior to joining the firm, Jessica began her career as an Assistant District Attorney, where she prosecuted both felony and misdemeanor cases. In 2015, Jessica moved to Pickens County and began working for the Appalachian District Attorney’s Office, becoming the lead child abuse prosecutor for the circuit. Jessica was appointed to the bench in January 2021. In her capacity as a Judge, she presided over both criminal and civil proceedings, including ordinance violations, dispossessory actions, and civil litigation.
Outside of her professional life, Jessica cherishes spending time with her husband and daughter. She is a passionate fan of college football. Jessica is an active member of the State Bar and the Appalachian Bar Association.
